Jan and Peter van der Heijden are father and son. Jan is a retired history teacher living in Geleen, the Netherlands. Having been involved in genealogy since his student years, he has published 8 books about 7 ancestral families, written numerous genealogical articles and researched his wife's descendance from Charlemagne.
Peter lives in White Plains, New York, in the US and having inherited his father's genealogy gene, he compiled information on 4 ancestral families of his wife. He became a professional genealogist and is webmaster of the APG, Association of Professional Genealogists.
Together they are in the process of making some information about these lineages available on this website, with the agreement not to list information about living people. Eventually the full text of the 7 books (which are out of print) and the Charlemagne descendance which Jan wrote, and the 4 lineages Peter collected, will be available to family members, on a secure part of this website, protected by a password.
